Boys golf takes fourth at Garden City Invitational on April 2
The boys golf team participated in the Garden City Invitational on April 2 at the Buffalo Dunes, Par 72. The boys took fourth with a score of 332.
Of the nine schools present, the hosting school, Garden City took first with a score of 299, followed by Guymon, Okla. with 305 and Hutchinson with 329. Other team scores were Hays 332, Dodge City 340, Liberal 346, Derby 382, Garden City JV 425 and Great Bend 446.
Individually, sophomore Allen Zollinger led the team, placing 11th with a score of 82. Senior Payton Ruder and freshman Trey McCrae both scored an 83 and tied for 14th place. Freshman Josh Norris placed 18th with a score of 84 for the varsity team.
Other individual scores were junior Justin McCullick tied for 23rd with an 88 and sophomore Peyton Kieffer in 27th place with an 89. Junior Brent Koenigsman played for the JV team with a score of 82, also tied in 11th place.
