Girls soccer played second round of tournament on April 2
The girls soccer team participated in the consolation game in the second round of the McPherson Invitational on April 2. Playing against Topeka High, the score was 3-3 in the tournament, but a tie in the season record.
Topeka made goals in the 20th, 47th and 51st minutes and were up 1-0 at halftime.
Sophomore Talyn Kleweno, assisted by sophomore Angel Bryant, made a goal at the 57th minute, while sophomore Payton Markley made one at the 72nd minute, assisted by Kleweno. At the 79th minute, senior Brooke Russell made a goal, unassisted.
After two five minute overtimes, the score was still tied.
The team lost in double penalty kicks 6-5. The final score was 4-3 in favor of Topeka.
