Volleyball goes 3-1 at WAC Tourney on Oct. 18
The Lady Indian volleyball team has had a successful season and to begin their post season, they recently participated in the WAC Tournament in Garden City. Going 3-1, the Indians played against Great Bend, Liberal, Dodge City and Garden City.
In the first game of the day, the team won in straight games with scores of 25-22 and 25-20 against Great Bend. Junior Kylie Brown had eight kills and five blocks while junior Albany Schaffer had 15 kills. Junior Madison Prough put up 18 assists.
Against Liberal, the Indians won again against Liberal in 25-13 and 27-25 victories. Senior Ashlyn Parrish and Brown each had six kills. Brown also had six blocks while both Prough and Schaffer had 13 assists each.
Continuing their winning streak, the squad played Dodge City with 25-22 and 31-29 decisions. Brown had eight kills while Schaffer had 19 digs. Prough also put up 17 assists.
In the championship game, the team played Garden City, losing both matches, 22-25 and 14-25. Brown and Parrish had five kills and Schaffer had 10 digs. Prough contributed 12 assists.
The Lady Indians are now 26-7. They will continue their post season next Tuesday, Oct. 21 in Maize.
