Volleyball goes 4-1 at Great Bend Tournament on Oct. 4
Recently at the Great Bend tournament on Oct. 4, the Lady Indians played against Phillipsburg, Hutchinson, Great Bend, St. John’s, and Hutchinson again. The team won four of the five games.
Against Phillipsburg, the Indians won with 25-22 and 25-13 decisions. Junior Madison Prough had nine assists and four aces while junior Tessa Stickel had six kills.
In their first game against Hutchinson for the day, the team lost with scores of 24-26 and 22-25. Stickel had nine kills for this game while junior Taylor Groen Younger had 10 assists. Junior Kylie Brown also had seven blocks.
The squad next played against Great Bend with 25-12 and 25-18 victories. Stickel had seven kills, Prough put up nine assists, and Brown had four blocks. Junior Albany Schaffer also had nine digs.
In the fourth game of the day, the Indians won against St. John’s with 25-22 and 25-17 victories. Brown had nine kills and seven blocks while Prough put up 11 assists. Schaffer had 13 digs.
The Indians showed another victory for the season in their final game against Hutchinson with scores of 25-21 and 25-21. Brown had eight kills and nine blocks for this game while Groen Younger had seven assists. Schaffer also put in 18 digs.
The Indians are now 20-6 in their season and the next action for them will be today, Oct. 6, in Colby.
