Volleyball goes 2-3 at Newton Tournament on Sept. 27
The Lady Indian Volleyball team recently participated in the Newton Tournament against Topeka Highland Park, Newton, Wichita NW, Andover Central and Salina South, winning two of the five games.
Beginning the day with a win, the Indians played Topeka Highland Park with 25-13 and 25-17 victories.
The team lost against Newton in 14-25 and 16-25 decisions, their first loss of the day.
In the game versus Wichita NW, the squad lost the first match with a close 26-28 decision, but won the second match 25-14, sending the game into a third and final match. Winning the deciding match 25-21, the Indians improved with another win to their season.
The squad lost another game against Andover Central with 16-25 and 17-25 decisions.
In their final game of the day, the Indians lost again to Salina South. In the first match, they won 25-22, but weren’t able to keep the lead in the second match, 16-25. In the final match, the team lost 17-25.
The Indians are now 13-5 in their season and the next action for them is at home on Oct. 2 for the Senior Night.
