Boys swimming takes fourth at Great Bend Invitational on Dec. 10
On Dec. 10, the boys swim team competed at Great Bend.
In the 200 Medley Relay, the A-team, consisting of, senior Boone Pruter, senior Austin Chambers, junior Morgan Mathews and senior Tommy Consiglio, placed second with a state qualifying time of 1:55.38. The B-team, consisting of sophomore Scott Ring, freshman Jacob Alexander, junior Conner Custer and sophomore Chantz Taliaferro, placed 12th with a time of 2:23.21
In the 200 IM, junior Ben Rajewski, placed fifth with a time of 2:35.22
In the 50 Free, Consiglio placed second with a time of 24.84, Mathews placed third with a time of 25.29 and sophomore Hunter Perryman placed 19th with a time of 28.98.
In the 100 Fly, Mathews placed first with a time of 59.69.
In the 100 Free, Consiglio, placed second with a state qualifying time of 54.27, Chambers, placed seventh with a time of 58.04 and Pruter, placed 11th with a time of 1:03.05.
In the 500 Free, Rajewski placed third with a time of 6:22.35.
In the 200 Free Relay, the A-team consisting of Perryman, Taliaferro, Custer and Alexander, placed 13th with a time of 2:03.05
In the 100 Back, Pruter placed seventh with a time of 1:16.91, while Ring placed ninth with a time of 1:20.18.
In the 100 Breast, Chambers placed second with a time of 1:12.36, Alexander placed 17th with a time of 1:33.89, and Custer placed 19th with a time of 1:35.41.
In the 400 Free Relay, the A-team consisting of, Pruter, Mathews, Consiglio, and Chambers, placed first with a time of 3:53.75, and the B-team consisting of, Rajewski, Perryman, freshman Tanner Callis and Ring, placed eighth with a time of 4:40.13.
Hays ended the meet with a combined team score of 231. Other team scores included Great Bend; 326, Hutchinson; 320, Junction City; 282.5, Wichita Collegiate; 186.5, McPherson; 164, The Independent School; 62 and Central Christian; 47.
