Boys swim team competes at Salina on Dec. 5

The boys swim team started off its season strong when it went to Salina on Dec. 5, for its first swim meet of the year.

In the 200 medley relay the A team consisting of sophomore Ben Morley, senior Austin Chambers, junior Morgan Mathews and senior Tommoso Consiglio placed fifth with a state consideration time of 2:00.49. The B team consisting of senior Boone Pruter, junior Conner Custer, junior Ben Rajewski and freshman Jacob Alexander placed 11th with a time of 2:15.34.

In the 200 freestyle Consiglio placed fourth with a time of 2:16.51.

In the 200 Individual Medley Rajewski placed fifth with a time of 2:35.32.

In the 50 freestyle Mathews placed second with a state consideration time of 24.73 while Chambers placed fifth with a time of 25.88 and sophomore Scott Ring placed 11th with a time of 28.61.

In the 100 butterfly Mathews qualified for state with a time of 59.91 which also earned him first place.

In the 100 freestyle Consiglio placed first with a state consideration time of 54.95. Also in the 100 freestyle Pruter places seventh with a time of 1:03.56 and Custer placed tenth with a time of 1:08.47.

In the 500 freestyle Rajewski placed third with a time of 6:30.40.

In the 200 freestyle relay the A team consisting of Morley, Alexander, Custer and Chambers placed eighth with a time of 1:57.50 while the B team consisting of sophomore ChantzTaliaferro, freshman Tanner Callis, senior Landon Stroup and Ring placed 12th with a time of 2:11.86.

In the 100 backstroke Pruter placed sixth with a time of 1:15.70 while Ring placed 11th with a time of 1:28.45.

In the 100 breaststroke Chambers placed fifth with a time of 1:16.50.

In the 400 freestyle relay, the A team consisting of Consiglio, Rajewski, Morley and Mathews placed third with a state consideration time of 3:57.77 while the B team, consisting of Pruter, Alexander, Taliaferro and Ring placed 11th with a time of 4:53.18.

Combined Team Scores were, Salina Central, 337; Salina South, 327; Campus Colts, 263; Great Bend, 248; and Hays, 195.
