Boys cross country places 2nd at McPherson Invitational
The boys cross country team took second place as a team with a 74 on Sept. 26 at the McPherson Invitational.
Freshman Zachary Hopp finished in ninth place with a time of 19:20, followed by senior Hunter Bizzell in 11th place with a time of 19:27 and senior Landon Munsch in 14th place, clocking in a time of 19:36, all of them medaling.
Other individual varsity times were freshman Ethan Shippy in 19th place with a time of 19:59, senior Austin Chambers in 21st place clocking in a 20:12, junior Konner Buxton in 35th with a time of 21:21, and junior Dylan Schmitt in 30th with a time of 20:41.
On the junior varsity team, freshman Ryan Fort took first with a time of 20:52. Also medaling in junior varsity was junior Daniel Hertel with a time of 22:15 in eighth place.
Other team scores in the eight team field were El Dorado, 61; Salina South, 81; Maize South, 83; McPherson, 104; Hutchinson, 107; Buhler, 140; and Salina Central, 228.
The next action for the boys is Oct. 5 at Junction City.
