Golf places 3rd at Dodge City Invitational
Many tied scores brought Hays home a third place spot from the Dodge City Invitational on Sept. 12 at Mariah Hill Golf Course.
Junior Lexie Schaben and freshman Katie Brungardt tied for 16th with a shared score of 99. Sophomore Taylor Deboer was four strokes behind with a 103 and tied for 24th while Elissa Jensen finished with a 111 and tied for 31st. Junior Macie Mayo was not far behind and finished with a 119 and senior Bailey Jordan ended with a 125.
The low score of the invitational was 75 by Taylyn Entriken from Maize.
For the team, Hays finished with a total of 412 behind second place Garden City with a 377 and first place Maize with a 358. Buhler trailed Hays with a 416 followed by Hutchinson with a 419.
Other team scores were Dodge City and Cimarron tying with a 430; Hoisington, 434; Great Bend, 436; Goddard, 459; Salina South, 463; and Liberal, 503.
The next action for the golfers will be Sept. 19 at Garden City.
