On Friday, Dec. 13, the Indian Call candidates for the upcoming event were announced.
Seniors Jordan Aschenbrenner, Riley Dreher, Maycie Holdeman, Jaycee Oakley and Alyse Zimmerman were selected as queen nominees, and seniors Brett Dreher, Kenny Fisher, Trace Jacobs, Caleb King and Cooper Lindenmeyer were nominated as king candidates.
“A lot of people told me they were voting for me, so I wasn’t that surprised,” Brett Dreher said. “When I was told I was a candidate, I just thought, ‘Oh, cool, so this is actually going to happen.’”
Indian Call Spirit Week is scheduled for Feb. 3 through the 7, with the candidates being crowned at the basketball game on Feb. 7 against Dodge City.
