On Monday, Jan. 15, Hays High School held an ACT preparation class from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The class was taught by Power Prep, a Midwest-based company that has focused on ACT preparation for more than 15 years.
Students in all grades could take this course and practice relative ACT skills in an attempt to increase their scores, but the class centered around juniors. The free statewide test for Hays High juniors will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 27.
ACT preparation helps students to prepare for what they will see on the test, improving their test-taking strategies and hopefully their results.
“The prep class was very beneficial to be able to know how to take the test and being able to have time management,” junior Tori Miller said.
