On Oct. 12, the Hays High lady Indians volleyball team hosted a triangular tournament in Hays. This finished off the home schedule, and the Indians finished strong by winning both matches.
The lady Indians played against the Junction City Blue Jays for their first match. The Indians won their first set, 25-18, and they also took the second set, 25-15.
For their second match, the lady Indians took on the Salina Central Mustangs. The Indians won the first set, 25-14. The Mustangs took the second set, 27-25. The third and final set was won by the Indians with a score of 25-16.
These wins brought the lady Indians to a season record of 18-12.
On Oct. 21, the lady Indians will compete in the sub-state competition.
“Our best strength is probably how much fun we have and how much we enjoy playing volleyball together,” senior Brygette Ross said. “I’m most proud of how much improvement we’ve made this season.”
