Girls soccer takes second at McPherson

The lady Indian soccer team placed second at the McPherson Invitational for the second year in a row.

Hays made it to the finals by defeating Augusta 5-0 in the first round.

Then, in the second round the Indians defeated Newton, 1-0, when senior Taylor Herman scored with one second to go in regulation.

In the championship game Hays fell 2-0 to Andover Central.

Senior Shelby Dinkel and Herman were both named to the All-Tournament team.

The next game for the girls is Tuesday, April 2, at Dodge City.
