After having its first losing season in 12 years last year the boys basketball team started off this season on the right foot with a 69-23 victory over Colby in the first round of the Hays City Shootout.
All fifteen players that suited up for the boys received minutes and only had three players that did not score. The starters were all stepped off of the floor for the last time in the game with 1:34 left in the third quarter.
At half time the game was already a blow out with Hays having a 39-13 lead.
Leading the team in scoring was sophomore Brady Werth and junior Jordan Windholz both with 10 points.
The Indians will face Newton in the semifinals of the tournament at 8:15 in the HHS gym.
