At the end of the third quarter the game was the same as the earlier meeting with Colby in the Shootout with a score of 53-31, this time though the boys were able to pull away for a final score of 65-39.
For the first time this season the boys had the same line-up as the previous game.
The boys shot out of the gate to claim a 22-11 lead the end of the first quarter with freshman Brady Werth have nine of the team’s first 12 points.
At half time the boys were still doubling Colby’s scoring with a score of 40-20.
The boys increased their lead by just two points in the third quarter with a score of 53-31.
Hays outscored Colby 12-8 in the fourth to claim the, 65-39, win.
Junior Derek Bixenman led the team in scoring again with 13, Werth and sophomore Layne Downing both followed with 11.
The boys are now on a three game win streak as they go to Junction City on Tuesday, Dec. 13.
