Students attend FHSU art show

The art show took place on April 8 at the Fort Hays State University at Gross Coliseum on the track.

Schools were provided with booths to display their art. Hays High was given two booths.

“They try to set up as many art pieces as they can on the two booths and judges come around and give certificates to the winning art,” instructor Nancy Flax said.

Students can also attend workshops for interactive learning.

“There are workshops set up for the kids that get to go,” Flax said. “They can see demonstrations and sometimes they can participate. They get to see college kids work.”

Other activities such as a chalk area are also part of the art show experience.

“There’s like a chalk walk where students can draw with chalk,” Flax said. “There is a theme and the students in chalk according to the theme they are given.”
