Guidon staff members Basso and Brooks bring lunches

Sack lunches are less common among students than eating school lunches. We’d always wanted to try bringing our lunches but never did because of the lack of students who brought their own lunches. We were influenced by our gluten intolerant staff mate and companion Hannah Norris to bring our own sack lunches. We brought our own lunches for the week of Feb. 26.

By the first day we could already tell we were going to highly enjoy bringing our lunches. We both came very well prepared, with a surplus of food.

Monday

On the second day we still came with a good amount of food, but slightly less than the day before. It was still a great experience, and we were still excited to continue bringing them throughout the week.

Tuesday

Wednesday was Kara’s least favorite day, but Raina still enjoyed it. Even though Kara didn’t enjoy that day as much, she still was enjoying bringing her lunches more than eating school food.

Wednesday

Thursday was Raina’s least favorite day out of the week. Raina thought it was a difficult day to bring it because of Regional Journalism.

Thursday

Friday was an enjoyable experience for both of us.

Friday

We both have decided that we love bringing our own lunches and decided to continue bringing them for an indefinite amount of time. We highly recommend that you also try to bring your lunch for a week.
