On Oct. 16, the Hays High School choir and orchestra held their Fall Charity Concert at Beach-Schmidt Auditorium on the campus of Fort Hays State University.

The concert included performances from the high school’s Concert and Chamber choir and orchestra groups, along with all choir groups from the middle school.

Every year, the choir and orchestra students pick a different charity to support with the proceeds from the charity concert. This year, the students selected the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

At the concert, students presented information about the foundation to show why it was important and how it has positively impacted people in the community.

Around $250 was raised on site at the concert, in addition to what was raised online.

“The arts have always been a great way to reach the community,” senior orchestra member Justus Nelson said. “I’m glad that we are able to use music to raise money for a good cause.”
