Girls golf team takes second at regionals to qualify for state

On Oct. 14, the Hays High lady Indian golf team played 18 holes for regionals in Wichita’s Rolling Hills Country Club to see if they would qualify for state. Each individual member placed in the Top 20.
Sophomore Katie Dinkel shot an 87 for eighth, junior Taleia McCrae took 13th with a 92, senior Sophie Garrison shot a 93 for 14th, senior Sierra Smith took 17th with a 94 and freshman Abbie Norris shot a 95 for 18th.
The team took second at the meet with a total score of 344, which qualified them for state on Monday, Oct. 19 at Salina Municipal Golf Course. This is their fifth year qualifying for state.
