Chamber Singers performed at Cathedral Concert in Victoria

The Chamber Singers performed at the annual Cathedral Christmas Concert on Sunday, Dec. 6.

Senior Courtney Ellis has performed in two Cathedral Concerts.

“Our performances went really well,” Ellis said. “Overall we did a fantastic job at the concert. It’s a little bittersweet that this is the last one I’ll get to perform at as a Chamber Singer.”

Senior Josh Jacobs said he enjoyed performing at his first Cathedral Concert.

“We’ve all worked hard on all our pieces,” Jacobs said. “All in all it was a great performance. We have all grown so much since the beginning of the year.”

Jacobs said he also enjoyed listening to the Fort Hays Singers.

“My brother is involved with the Fort Hays Singers,” Jacobs said. “It’s always nice to be able to hear your family perform.”

Junior Kristen Nease said her favorite part of the concert was the flute ensembles and oboe soloists.

“We all did really well,” Nease said. “The soprano section blend was so great. We got several compliments on how our voices sounded like one voice.”

Senior Rachel Nansel said she enjoyed performing her third and final Cathedral Concert as a Chamber Singer.

“We always become a closer knit group at the Cathedral Concert,” Nansel said. “This year was no exception. This past weekend has been ridiculously busy but we all pulled together to perform a great concert.”

Senior Madison Prough said the concert went well.

“My mom recorded the concert for me,” Prough said. “It’s such a bonding experience for all of us.”

Senior Taylor Leiker said she also recorded the concert and enjoyed listening to all of the choirs perform.

Senior Kinsey Ackerman said she thought the songs were well selected.

“Everything sounded so great in the Cathedral,” Ackerman said. “The songs fit the space and really filled the room.”
