Seniors applying for scholarships know that it can sometimes be a stressful process and competition is inevitable.

Senior Clayton Schneider has applied and is working to receive a $17,000 scholarship to Tulsa Welding School.

“Clayton wants to make welding a career,” welding teacher Todd Taylor said. “He has applied for a scholarship for tuition assistance at Tulsa Welding School.”

Taylor said the scholarship had two parts.

“The first part required students to write an essay,” Taylor said. “From there, they would qualify for the second phase to make a two to three minute video about welding.”

Schneider qualified for the second phase. Taylor said that the video could be found on Facebook under mikeroweWORKS. Students can also vote at home through this link : http://bit.ly/P9GkZ0

The winner will be determined by how many votes their video gets.

“I encourage everyone to vote,” Taylor said.

Voting goes until April 29.
