Boys swimming competes at Wichita Southeast meet

On Dec. 9, the Hays High School boy’s swim team competed at Wichita Southeast at a swim meet. Overall, the team took fourth place with 196 total points.

Individually, the following swimmers placed:

50-yard Freestyle: Seventh place – Marshall Sook

100-yard Backstroke: Eighth place – LeRoy Goodspeed, ninth place – Jude Hileman, 12th place – Bryton Unsworth

100-yard Breaststroke: 14th place – Noah Schaeffer

100-yard Freestyle: Second place – Marshall Sook, seventh place – Karsen Flaska, 17th place – Leo Hernandez

200-yard Freestyle Relay: Fifth place – Karsen Flaska, Leo Hernandez, Marshall Sook and Chase Zadina

200-yard Medley Relay: Fifth place – Cedric Durr, Karsen Flaska, Jude Hileman and Jack Zeller

200-yard Freestyle: Fourth place – Chase Zadina, Ninth place – Karsen Flaska

400-yard Freestyle Relay: Third Place – Cedric Durr, Leo Hernandez, Marshall Sook and Chase Zadina

“The boys did really well this meet and have shown great improvement so far this season,” junior manager Kiera Dealy said. “Overall, I think the chances of more boys going to state is more promising.”
