Track and field teams prepare for season

With winter sports ending in early March, it marked the beginning of spring sports. With this comes the start of the sport that more athletes go out for than any other at Hays High School, track.

The first varsity meet is scheduled for Thursday, March 30 in McCook, Neb.; it was moved to March 30 from Friday, March 31 due to predicted weather conditions.

“I think our team will start the season well because we have good coaches and leadership, and everyone works extremely hard at practice,” junior Elijah McCullough said.

Sophomore thrower Tori Miller also said the girls would be prepared for their first meet.

“I think the girls especially will do great we work hard at practice and have a good group of coaches to lead us,” Miller said.
