Golf breaks school record two days in a row

On Sept. 22, the girls golf team travel to Garden City to play at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course, where they broke an 11-year-old record. Prior to this tournament, the lowest team score for 18 holes was 331 strokes, but now it is 329. After taking nine members, seven placed in the Top 10, and the team took first.

Junior Ashlynn Banker placed 10th after shooting a 91, junior Lily Garrison took ninth with an 87, senior Claire Humphrey shot an 86 for eighth, sophomore Jaycee Oakley took sixth with an 85, junior Abbie Norris shot an 83 for fifth, junior Evyn Cox placed fourth with an 83 and senior Katie Dinkel got second with an 82.

The next day, on Sept. 23, the golf team broke its record again by three strokes, earning a 326 as a team score for 18 holes, which got them first place in the tournament out of 14 teams.

Norris took second with an 86, Dinkel placed fifth with an 81, Garrison placed seventh with an 83 and Oakley shot an 86 for 11th.
