Hays volleyball finishes their season with improved record
The Hays volleyball team finished off their season with two final tournaments Oct. 16 and Oct. 19 against Garden City, Great Bend, Liberal, Dodge City, Salina Central and Goddard Eisenhower.
Against Garden City, Hays started off with a loss in the first set, 22-25. Hays stayed resilient, winning two straight sets, 25-20 and 25-16, to win the matchup.
Next, the lady Indians faced off against Great Bend and Liberal. Hays came in and dominated, ending the matches quick with two sweeps, 25-21 and 25-15, to beat both schools.
On Oct. 19, Hays matched up against the Dodge City Demons. After a rough game, Dodge City pulled out the victory, 2-1. The lady Indians did not finish their season the way they hoped, as they lost to the Salina Central Mustangs and the Goddard Eisenhower Tigers, both 0-2.
Hays High ended the season with a record of 18-18, a big improvement from last year’s team.
