Boys golf hosts tournament and participates in a Dodge City tournament

Sophomore Braden Hoskins hits a drive from the tee box on hole 17 at the annual Smoky Hill Country Club high school tournament.

On April 19, the Hays High boys golf team hosted the Bob Blazer/Hays High Invitational at the Smoky Hill Country Club. They played 18 holes and par for this course is 71.

Senior Jason Krannawitter placed third with a score of 79, sophomore Braden Hoskins shot an 84 and placed 10th, senior Weston Hoskins took 14th with an 86, junior Ashton Hernandez shot a 101 for 30th, sophomore Blake Buckles took 33rd with a 104, senior Skylar Zimmerman and sophomore Landen Clark both shot a 105 for 34th.

The team took 3rd with a 350 and were one point behind Great Bend.

The next varsity meet was on April 22 at Mariah Hills Golf Course in Dodge City. Mariah Hills is 18 holes and par for this course is 71.

Krannawitter took 15th with an 81, Braden Hoskins placed 18th with a score of 83, Weston Hoskins shot a 92 for 46th and Buckles scored a 97 for 46th.

The team placed eighth with a score of 353.
