After being postponed from Friday, Jan. 10 to Saturday, Jan. 11 because of winter weather, the lady Indian basketball team played the Liberal Redskins at home.

The lady Indians could never find a rhythm to use to keep the score close, while Liberal started the game off with a 12-1 run early in the first half.

Liberal never let Hays get closer than nine points, and Hays only had two field goals in the whole first half. The score was 34-8 in favor of the Redskins going into halftime.

The second half was run by the lady Indians, while outscoring Liberal, 21-19, there was just not enough time for the Indians to come back.

The lady Indians fell to the Redskins with a final score of 53-29. Senior Tasiah Nunnery had 11 of those 21 points.

The lady Indians have a record of 1-4 on the year, and 0-1 in the Western Athletic Conference. They will host Great Bend at home on Jan. 14.
