Tradgon McCrae takes third, team takes fourth at 5A State Golf Tournament

Senior Tradgon McCrae golfs at a previous home tournament. McCrae recently took third at the 5A State Golf Tournament in Dodge City on May 22.

 Senior Tradgon McCrae led the Indian golf team one last time to a fourth-place finish at state on May 22 in Dodge City.

McCrae placed third with a 68, the lowest 18 score by a Hays High golfer ever at a state meet. Senior Josh Norris finished 15 with a score of 74.

Also counting for the team score was sophomore Jason Krannawitter with a 79 to tie for 36. Junior Tucker Johnson finished 55 with a score of 83.

Sophomore Weston Hoskins tied for 62 with a score of 85 while freshman Wesley Oakley tied for 79 with a score of 91.

McCrae also broke several other records this season including the lowest season average (73.6) and the lowest career stoke average (76.2).

This was the final meet for the team, but seniors McCrae and Norris will continue their golf careers in college.
