Freshman Taleia McCrae takes shot on Liberal defense after beating two defenders.

The girls soccer team faced off against the Garden City Lady Buffaloes, resulting in a, 1-1, draw between the two teams.

The first half went scoreless for both teams, but it was the Lady Indians that struck first in the 61st minute. Freshman Taleia McCrae put the ball in the back of the net after the ball had bounced around inside Garden City’s goalie box.

Garden City answered just 11 minutes later to tie things up, after the Lady Buffaloes won a free kick deep inside the Lady Indians offensive half.

The game went scoreless for the remainder of regulation time and two 10 minute overtimes.

Lady Indians move to 6-1-2 on the season and 2-0-2 in WAC, and will face off against the Liberal Redskins on April 18, at Liberal High School
