Girls soccer team places third in McPherson Invitational

Sophomore Maggie Robben takes shot just outside the box, against crosstown rivals, TMP Marian. The Lady Indians won the game 7-1.

The girls soccer team kicked off the McPherson Invitational with a big win over Salina South, putting the Cougars away, 3-1.

Goals were scored by senior Hannah McGuire, Savannah Schneider, and freshman Caroline Robben. These goals were assisted by senior Kallie Leiker with two and Schneider with one assist.

The Lady Indians faced fierce competition in the second round of the McPherson Invitational against Mazie South, with the Lady Indians falling in overtime, 2-1.

Robben was the only payer for the Lady Indians to score giving the young freshmen her third goal of the season.

Ending the McPherson Invitational on a high note, the Lady Indians triumphed, 1-0 over Andover Central to place third. Robben continued to improve her hot start to her young career netting her fourth goal to win the third-place game. Topping off a well-played tournament Caroline Robben and her sister junior Isabel Robben were named All-Tournament Team.

The Lady Indians improve to 3-1 on the season and will face off in the teams first WAC game against Dodge City on April 4, at Dodge City.
