Although no Hays golfers placed in the top 10 at the Garden City Invitational at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course on Sept 19, they did place fourth as a team with a score of 416.
Freshman Katie Brungardt finished in the 12th place spot with an overall 18 hole score of 97. Juniors Elissa Jensen and Lexie Schaben were 9 strokes behind with tied scores of 106 and sophomore Taylor Deboer was just one stroke behind them with a 107.
The top score of the tournament was Abbi Shaddix from Garden City ending with a 72.
Other teams scores were Maize, 348; Garden City, 374; Goodland, 378; Great Bend, 425; Syracuse, 426; Lakin, 437; Dodge City, 458; Ulysses, 473; Liberal, 489; and Hugoton, 510.
The next action for the lady Indians will be on Sept 23 at Colby.
