The annual Bob Kuhn Classic wrestling tournament took place at Hays High School on Jan. 24 and 25.

The tournament was held over two days with 14 different weight divisions and 27 schools from all throughout Kansas in attendance.

The team that took first place overall was Great Bend with 187.5 points, followed by Kapaun Mt. Carmel with 146.5 points and McPherson with 146 points.

Hays High placed 11th in team rankings and had two wrestlers take third place in their divisions.

“I feel like I did okay,” Robinson said. “I didn’t place last year, so I know I’m making progress.”

Nutting said he also feels that he has improved since last year and looks forward to continuing with the sport.

“It had its ups and downs, but I managed to get through it,” Nutting said. “It felt good to improve on how I placed last year.
