Stuco sponsors Valentine’s Day game

“Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet and so are you.” This is a famous quote many recognize on such a special day of the year: Feb. 14th.

Valentine’s Day itself is a way to celebrate your love for someone else; however, Friday was a challenge for some.

The Hays High Stuco team created a game known as “Hush Day” for all of the students to participate in during the love filled day. All girls were given a heart during first period and were to pin it visibly on their shirts. If a boy got a girl to speak, she would give her heart to that boy. At the end of the day, the boy who collected the most hearts won, and would be crowned “Mr. Irresistible.” Also, if a girl were to keep her heart from 8:08 to 3:12 she would have an opportunity to win as well.

Girls that kept their heart throughout the day are drawn from a raffle to win a prize.

Winners included Jasmine Segura and crowned Mr. Irresistible was a tie among Tathan Burkhart, Mikey Ploutz and Kaelan Dietz.

“I thought it was a cool game, but I did end up giving my heart away,” sophomore Courtney Ellis said.
