FFA students help at Community Bingo Night
Select students in FFA attended the Community Bingo Night on Nov. 13 at Homestead of Hays Assisted Living. FFA President, junior Ashton Ottley attended along with 11 other fellow classmates.
“Not everyone in FFA attended, only the students who wanted to participate,” Ottley said. “We assisted the elderly in playing bingo, talked to them, handed out prizes, then ended with having cookies with them.”
Community Bingo Night is an event that FFA students have the opportunity to participate in once a semester.
“I chose to go because I love to talk to the residents there,” Ottley said. “They have so much knowledge and are really interesting to talk to.”
Overall, Ottley believes participating in Community Bingo Night is worth it and believes more students in FFA should attend.
“I really love helping with this,” Ottley said. “It is a great experience that more people should do. It truly makes their day when they have us there for company. Seeing the smiles on their faces when we come makes the whole thing totally worth it.”
