On March 26, the annual Student Council Talent Show was performed in an auditorium for the first time.
During Advisory, students gathered in the new Performing Arts Center to watch eight acts compete in the show.
After the participants competed, the votes were tallied, and junior Kamden McBride walked away victoriously. McBride sang a rendition of “All of Me” by John Legend while playing the piano along with it.
Senior Tyler Huynh captured second place. He performed an energetic beatboxing routine that showed a level of stage presence that judges were evaluating.
“I was inspired by wanting to showcase my skills to other people, and the Talent Show was the perfect opportunity,” Huynh said.
Finally, freshman Jon Summers took third place. He completed an electric guitar performance, incorporating segments of songs by Metallica.
Before making it to the stage, students had to audition for StuCo, then be selected to perform in the Talent Show. The other students who performed included junior Harley Foarde, junior Jazmine Lynd, sophomore An Li with freshman Genevieve Dietz, freshman Maia Gray and freshman David Wintch.
“My favorite moment was when I heard the audience start to clap with the beat,” Li said.
