An annual event held at Hays High School is on its way once again, as on Wednesday, Oct. 1, colleges from around Kansas are coming to Hays so students can learn about the opportunities they offer.
Each session of the College and Career Planning Conference in the Maroon Gym will last 30 minutes, with the seniors attending at 1 p.m., the juniors following at 1:40 p.m. and the sophomores going at 2:20 p.m.
The state colleges that will attend will include Emporia State University, Fort Hays State University, Kansas State University, Kansas State University Army ROTC, Pittsburg State University, University of Kansas, University of Kansas Medical Center, Washburn University and Wichita State University.
Independent colleges and universities will include Baker University, Barclay College, Bethany College, Bethel College, Central Christian College, Kansas Wesleyan University, Manhattan Christian College, McPherson College, Newman University, Ottawa University and Tabor College.
Community colleges will include Barton Community College, Butler Community College, Cloud County Community College, Colby Community College, Dodge City Community College, Fort Scott Community College, Garden City Community College, Highland Community College, Hutchinson Community College, Neosho County Community College and Pratt Community College.
Technical colleges will include Flint Hills Technical College, Fort Hays Tech North Central, Fort Hays Tech Northwest, Manhattan Technical College, Missouri Welding Institute and Salina Area Technical College.
Cosmetology schools will include Bellus Academy, Eric Fisher Academy, Hays Academy of Hair Design and Paul Mitchell the School.
The Armed Forces will include the Air Force, Army, Marines and National Guard.
