During PRIDE Time on Friday, March 28, seven acts competed in the Student Council Talent Show at Hays High School.
At the end of the Talent Show, the winners were announced. The band Agents of Chaos, consisting of seniors Parker Muehleisen and Coy Stutterheim, took first place. They performed two songs. The first song was “Pure Chaos,” written by Muehleisen. The second song was “We Must Rise” by Muehleisen and Stutterheim.
Sophomore Kamden McBride took second place. In his performance, he sang and played piano and harmonica to Billy Joel’s “Piano Man.”
Third place went to the band of senior Jordan Breinig, senior Cooper Smith and junior Josh Ketchens. The group played on bass guitar, drums and keyboards and sang to Foreigner’s “Cold as Ice.”
To perform in the Talent Show, the students had to make it through the auditions. The other students performing included senior Aiden Burton, sophomore Harley Foarde, senior Peter Hyatt and sophomore Jazmine Lynd.
“I was excited to play ‘Piano Man’ for the Talent Show this year,” McBride said. “I’ve taught myself how to play harmonica just for the show, so it was nice to put it into action.”
