The Hays High School boys and girls bowling teams kicked off their season in January 2025.
The teams first competed on Jan. 9 here in Hays at Centennial Lanes against Dodge City. The varsity boys finished first over Dodge City, and the varsity girls ended second to the Demons. For the varsity boys, sophomore Keaton Brown placed first, and junior Tyler Huynh was second. For the varsity girls, junior Loucinda Meade took first, and junior Aleena Acheson was third. In junior varsity action, senior Lucas Miller placed first, and sophomore Jacob Ridgeway was second for the boys.
The teams then traveled to Garden City on Jan. 16 to compete against Garden City and Holcomb at Hard Rock Lanes. The varsity boys and the JV boys both finished in third, and the varsity girls took second. While none of the boys finished in the Top 5, for the varsity girls, Acheson placed fifth overall.
“I’m looking forward to competing in our last meets,” junior Benjamin Bergman said.
Next up for the Indian bowlers is the Liberal meet on Thursday, Jan. 23 at Liberal.
