Since kicking off the basketball season with the tournament win at the Hays City Shootout, the Hays High School lady Indians basketball team has had an undefeated season. So far, their record is 8-0, as they have traveled for three games, with only one other home game outside of the Shootout games.
On Tuesday, Jan. 14, the girls traveled to Emporia and won, 66-12, in a game that was rescheduled from Friday, Jan. 10. On Friday, Jan. 17, the team went to Garden City to play against the lady Buffalos, winning 69-50.
Head coach Len Melvin said that the girls have continued to play well despite some challenges.
“We had a very long break due to the holiday break and some weather postponed games, however, the girls have continued to stay focused while working hard to improve,” Melvin said.
