Boys tennis competes in state tournament
On May 12, three members of the Hays High boys tennis team traveled to Arkansas City to compete in the state championship.
Colin Clark played singles, while Xavier Catura and Henry Fitzthum played in the doubles bracket. Both the singles and the doubles teams lost their first game and eventually lost their second. While the teams failed to place in the tournament, it shows that there is more to come for the boys tennis program.
This was even more special for the school because it is the first time that coaches Kayla Brown and Carly Bech have sent players to state.
“I felt really accomplished because I finally could say the hard work paid off,” Catura said.
