Prom candidates announced, as students prepare for April 22 event
Hays High School’s Prom is right around the corner, coming up on Saturday, April 22.
The theme this year is “Under the Stars,” and the dance will be at the Hilton Garden Inn from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.. Tickets are free for juniors and seniors, but underclassman must have upperclassmen as a date; all students must have their student ID cards.
Also, Prom candidates have been announced, and voting has taken place, with the results of the king and queen being announced at Prom. Candidates for king are seniors Matthew Berner, Ashton Putz, Carson Spray, Cyrus Vajnar and Peyton Zimmerman, and candidates for queen are seniors Claire Humphrey, Halle Lohmeyer, Spenser Mills-Kulmala, Danica Scheve and Ashlyn Zimmer.
“I’m excited to be a Prom candidate this year because I think it is a fun experience, even if I don’t win,” Berner said. “Getting to hang out with the other candidates is so much fun and always a blast!”
