Both boys, girls teams participate in regional wrestling to qualify for state

Recently, both the girls and the boys wrestling teams had their regional meets on Feb. 11 and Feb. 17-18, respectively.
On the girls team, six of the team members qualified for state, with them being senior Sarah Zimmerman, who took first in the regional meet at her weight class, and sophomore Tionna Napue, who also took first in her weight class. In addition, junior Lexi Burton and freshman Reese Vehige placed second to qualify for state, and sophomore Ava Ruiz and freshman Lexi Barnet finished third to qualify for state.
For the boys team, seven of the team members qualified for state, including senior Adin Flock, senior Cyrus Vajnar, junior Elijah McCullough, junior Harley Zimmerman, sophomore Boston Brungardt, sophomore Dalton Meyers and freshman Grady Lind.
The girls state tournament will be Wednesday, Feb. 22 and Thursday, Feb. 23, and the boys state tournament will be Friday, Feb. 24 and Saturday, Feb. 25. Both will be held at Hartman Arena in Park City, outside of Wichita.
