Music groups perform at state contests
Band students practice upcoming music in the band room.
The music groups of Hays High competed in state large group contests on April 14 in Colby. The competitions took place throughout the day.
Band, Chamber Orchestra, Concert Orchestra and Chamber Singers all got I ratings, which are indicative of only minor errors in an accomplished performance.
Concert Choir earned a III rating.
“I was super proud of them [the Concert and Chamber Orchestras] and how well they performed,” orchestra instructor Joan Crull said.
