National Honor Society officers announced
The officers for National Honor Society for this school year were recently announced.
“For electing officers, we take the previous year’s juniors, so the start of the senior class for this year,” co-sponsor Kayla Brown said. “We let them nominate each other, and then we go through the nominations, and we pick the top two to three for each office, and then we have the entire group of current members revote for each officer.”
The officers for this year include the following:
President – senior Alicia Feyerherm
Vice President – senior Ginny Ke
Secretary – senior Alexis White
Treasurer – senior Allison Brooks
“I was very surprised and honored when it was announced I was elected president,” Feyerherm said. “I was not expecting to be elected, but I’m glad my peers are confident in my ability to lead. I’m really looking forward to another year in National Honors Society, and I can’t wait to see who all gets selected this year.”
Juniors and seniors invited to join NHS must complete their applications by Wednesday, Oct.14. Applicants will be accepted or rejected by Wednesday, Oct. 28, and the induction ceremony for new members will take place Tuesday, Nov. 10.
“I’m looking forward to starting up National Honor Society again this year,” Brown said. “We are at a point of not wanting to plan too far ahead, because who knows if it will work out or if we will have to make changes. At this point, we are trying to assume everything will be the same.”
