Indian Call activities announced
The Indian Call candidates will be starting their week of trepidation with a photoshoot in a specially picked location on Feb. 1. They will take pictures with the entire group as well as being paired off with partners.
The anxious students were given their partners a week after their nominations were announced.
The partners are as follows: Trey Blackmon and Marissa Dinkel, Ethan Shippy and Angel Bryant. Kara Brooks and Tyrone Wynn will be partners, Hannah Pfannenstiel will be paired with Ryan Fort and Katie Brungardt with Sage Markley. Lastly, Payton Markley will be paired with Dylan Flegler.
Senior Kara brooks had mixed feelings about the entire partnering process.
“I was really anxious to find out who my partner was,” Brooks said. “It took a while for us to find out who we were paired up with.”
Brooks said she was expecting the process to be bigger than it really was.
“I was expecting it to be a huge deal due to all the hype, but it really wasn’t,” Brooks said. “At the end of the meeting, we were paired off by height and that was it.”
The partners will compete in the games assembly on Feb. 7. The assembly will take place during seminar in Gym A and will consist of candidate games along with a few class games in between.
During that week, spirit days will be taking place as well. Monday will be music genre day, Tuesday will be career day, Thursday will be throwback Thursday and Friday will be the traditional dress-up day.
The formal assembly will take place on Feb. 10 during seminar. It will not be as long as others, such as the homecoming assembly, but it will consist of much of the same things.
Brooks said she is really excited about the upcoming weeks of her candidacy.
“I feel extremely honored to be an Indian Call candidate,” Brooks said. “I’m really excited for the games and the assemblies.”
Brooks said though she is excited for the formal assembly, she is quite nervous.
“I am one to trip in heels, but I’m really hoping my dad will hold me up,” Brooks said. “I am really excited to get all dolled up, though.”
Senior Katie Brungardt said she is excited but stressed out.
“There are so many things we have to do in the next couple of weeks to get ready for everything,” Brungardt said.
Despite the stress, Brungardt said she is looking forward to one thing in particular.
“I am really looking forward to getting closer to all of the candidates,” Brungardt said. “I know them all, but I am really glad that we all get to hang out with each other and do these different activities.
