Leadership team creates conflicted freshmen opinions
It’s no secret that freshmen are scared to come into a new school after just being the top dogs at an other one. Luckily for them, the high school takes this into account and provides a team for them to turn to when they get flustered.
The leadership team is a group made up of teacher nominated juniors and seniors. Throughout the year these students help incoming freshmen make the move to their new habitat of learning.
The team does this by prepping them 8th grade year, showing them around the school, and answering any questions they may have. Once they have made the move, the members of the team take time out of there seminars to meets with them at the beginning of the year, as a follow up.
“They were pretty helpful,” freshman Ian Will said.
It’s obvious that the juniors and seniors have a lot on their plates as is, without the added duties being on the team provides. Now, two freshmen wonder if the meetings that are being provided are actually helpful.
Freshman Ashley Wilson thinks that the information being told during the meetings is more common sense than informative.
“I kind of already knew all the stuff they were saying,” Wilson said.
Freshman Tah’ki Bannister relates.
“Going to the meetings is kind of pointless,” Bannister said. “I already know what they are trying to tell me.”
