Current cross country roster for 2016
The cross country team began their season on Sept. 1 at Great Bend.
“Good day for the lady Indians,” coach Jerold Harris said. “They placed third as a team, just five points out of first place.”
Great Bend placed first at the meet with a score of 57, followed by Garden City with 58. Taking third place, the lady Indian cross country team scored 62 points. Other scores with Hutchinson with 71 and Salina South with 92.
Individually, senior Marie Reveles took fourth place, sophomore Ady Albers took ninth place and senior Alyssa Bryant took 13th place. Other runners who placed were freshman Yesenia Maldonado in 16th, junior Madison Schmidt in 20th and Tana Herreman in 23rd.
Harris also said that his boys team had a good day, placing third as a team as well.
In team standings, Garden City took first place with a score of 30, second place went to Great Bend, who scored 58. Hays had 87 points, followed closely by Hutchinson whose 89 points got them fourth place. Fifth place went to Salina South with 90 points.
Individually, senior Ethan Shippy took eighth place, senior Caden Cunningham got 12th, and senior Daniel Lopez took 16th place. Other standings were sophomore Johnny Fuller in 24th, senior Ransome Drexler in 27th, senior Alex Tinkel in 29th and sophomore Cade Swayne in 30th.
The boys cross country team had two medalists, seniors Ethan Shippy and Caden Cunningham.

Freshmen: Grant Brungardt, Conner Cunningham, Justice Dotts, Caleb Jellison, Trystin Johnson, Ethan Klausmeyer, Jevin Legleiter-Newman, Maddie Lohmeyer, Yesenia Maldonado, Devin McClain, Kaiden VanSchuyver and Ethan Voss.
Sophomores: Adyson Albers, Nisi Cabral, Cody Conger, Sydney Davis, Abigail Dickinson, Johnny Fuller, Corey Hale, Benton McGrath, Scout Perryman, Seth Redfield, Landry Rice, Cade Swayne and Tanner Windholz.
Juniors: Ashley Boland, Trinity Callis, Garrett Gregg, Tana Herreman, Madison Schmidt and Mark Schuckman.
Seniors: Alayna Arnhold, Alyssa Bryant, Caden Cunningham, Alexander Davis, Ransome Drexler, Zachary Hopp, Daniel Lopez, Marie Reveles, Ethan Shippy, Alex Tinkel and Taden Zimmerman.
The head coach for the team is Jerold Harris. Assistant Coaches are Corina Beam and Isaac Williams.
