Senior Haley George discusses signing to K-State
Senior Haley George signed into K-State University on Wednesday, March 30.
George will be rowing for K-State.
“I accepted to row because I was ready for a new challenge,” George said. “I love all the sports that I do and I will miss doing them, but I am ready for something new. I think I will enjoy the rowing part. It is a very tough sport, but I will meet so many new people. ”
George sees many benefits associated with attending K-State.
“I am very interested in K-State because they have a great education program,” George said.
George said that she wants to get her major in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education.
There is a downside for George, however.
“The only thing that I think I will not like about living in Manhattan is that I will be away from my family and friends,” George said. “I am very family oriented and I do not like to be away from my family for long periods of time so I will be visiting home as often as I can.”
Overall, George said she is excited for K-State.
“I think to best part about attending K-State will be all the new people I will meet through rowing and just being on campus,” George said.
George said she thinks she wouldn’t be where she is without the support of her family and friends.
“Thank you to all of my friends and family that have supported me throughout all of my sports,” George said. “This would not be possible without you.”
