There are many boys on the wrestling team, but only three of them made it to state competition. Wrestling’s state competition was held on Feb. 25, and 26. Juniors Austin Dale and Conrad Vajnar, and sophomore Trey Vanpelt are the wrestlers that qualified for state.

Dale did a lot of endurance training during the wrestling season to prepare for state because during the later part of the wrestling season he had to wrestle longer and go to harder matches. Throughout the last few days before state Dale made sure to get a lot of sleep and tried to stay mainly focused on wrestling.

“I feel really good about making it to state,” Dale said. “I have worked all year to get this far and that’s where I needed to be.”

Vajnar had been working very hard throughout the wrestling season to be able to qualify for state.

“This is the first time that I’ve qualified to go to state,” Vajnar said.

To prepare Vajnar went to wrestling practice, weights class, summer weights nd zero hour.

“I went 1-2 at state so I feel that I did okay,” Vajnar said. “I was happy that I was able to make it to state.”
