Students discuss Indian Call attendance

With the Indian Call week starting on Feb. 16, many students have begun making decisions about whether or not they will attend the dance. While some students are looking forward to the Indian Call dance on Feb. 20, others will be spending their time elsewhere.

One student who will not be attending the dance is junior Lakin Ditter.

“I’m not going because I feel like it’s more for couples than people without dates,” Ditter said. “Instead I’ll probably just be hanging out with my friends.”

Junior Kaely McKinney will not be going to the dance due to regional wrestling.

“I will be cheering at regional wrestling,” McKinney said. “I don’t think I would go even if I wasn’t because I’m a loner.”

Wanting to try something new, freshman Trevor Mai decided to go.

“I mean, why not?” Mai said.

As a candidate, senior Payton Ruder will be in attendance.

“I’m most excited about being around all of my friends,” Ruder said.

Sophomore Shelby Knoll will also be going to Indian Call.

“I’m going because I really like dressing up,” Knoll said. “Dances are fun, and I’d rather be there than at a party.”

Sophomore Emily Ricke disagrees.

“I’m not going,” Ricke said. “I would rather just stay home and watch Netflix.”

Freshman Zac Wyse is undecided as to whether or not he will be going.

“Instead of the dance, I could be going to play tennis or hang out with my friends,” Wyse said. “But I could also go and just have fun.”
